The GPSMAP 76CS handheld GPS receiver is based on the popular 76 series design and Garmin has added a host of new features making this unit an outstanding performer for people looking for a top of the line handheld GPS.

The new sunlight readable color TFT display has a resolution of 160 x 240 pixels for a sharp picture that's easy to read, and Garmin has added a much faster USB/PC interface on the GPSMAP 76CS and packed it with 115MB of uploadable map memory and a new faster processor. In addition the GPSMAP 76CS features a built-in electronic compass for accurate headings while standing still and a barometric altimeter for more accurate elevation readings. The GPSMAP 76CS has all the basics covered too, including a 12 channel WAAS receiver for top notch tracking and accuracy up to 10 feet*, 2 battery design for lighter weight, 1000 user entered waypoints with name and symbol, rugged waterproof design, audible alarms, celestial tables for best fishing and hunting times, US tide data with marine point database and much, much more.

The built-in Americas AutoRoute basemap covers North and South America and has extra detail for inside the US. By using the basemap the GPSMAP 76CS can guide you turn by turn with visual directions and audible tones along highways and interstates. When map data from Garmin's optional City Select software is purchased and downloaded into the unit this capability is greatly expanded to include details street level maps and points of interest. The best way to do this is to purchase the automotive navigation kit which includes the City select software and vehicle accessories such as a mounting bracket and power cord. The Garmin GPSMAP 76CS is also compatible with many other Garmin Mapsource software CD's such as TOPO and Bluechart so you can be ready wherever your adventures take you. Size: 6.2"H x 2.7"W x 1.2"D.
