The StreetPilot III Deluxe from Garmin brings in-car satellite
navigation to a whole new level. The StreetPilot III features a
brilliant 16 color, 4" high-resolution LCD display for maximum
visibility, and is one of the only mini-sized-portable GPS units that
can provide actual turn by turn directions and voice prompts to
destinations. The StreetPilot III comes with a built-in US basemap
showing state highways and interstates, along with federal interstate
highway exit information for services such as food, lodging and service
stations. The built-in basemap can provide turn by turn guidance to a
destination via interstates and highways. The StreetPilot III Deluxe
also comes with Garmin's newly enhanced Mapsource City Navigator CD-ROM
which contains detailed road information and points of interest for the
US, and many cities in Canada. With downloaded maps from the City
Navigator CD-ROM, StreetPilot III provides turn by turn guidance down
to residential street-level detail. You even have your choice of the
shortest or the fastest route, and the StreetPilot III will also
provide you with an ETA to your destination.
How it works
The Mapsource City Navigator CD-ROM contains detailed digital maps
covering almost every town in the USA. It even covers many larger
cities in Canada. With the purchase of the StreetPilot III Deluxe you
will have access to any of the maps contained on the CD-ROM. Using the
City Navigator software, and your PC, you can download whatever section
of this map information you would like into the included 128 megabyte
datacard, this will allow you to display these detailed maps right on
the screen and get turn by turn directions to an address of your
choice.The StreetPilot III Deluxe also features a detailed trip
computer with an odometer, trip timers and average and maximum speeds.
