DataSend - North America
The DataSend CD-ROM was created to enhance the waypoint features of
the 315, 320, and Yellow Sportrak GPS receivers. It contains a large
database of points of interest (POI's) which can be selected and
uploaded into the GPS receiver. You can choose from over 500,000 POI's
from 37 different categories. You can upload up to 19,820 POI's from a
maximum of 10 categories into the GPS at one time. New Datasend Version
2 also adds waypoint and route transfer features! DataSend is easy to
use. Suppose you are planning a vacation to San Francisco and you want
to play some golf and go sailing while you are there. With the DataSend
CD and your GPS you could upload POI's from the categories Golf Courses
and Boats & Canoes The GPS would then give you the location of
various places to play golf and rent a boat in the area. In some cases,
like the Golf Courses and Marinas listings, you will even get address
and phone number information. This is very useful! There are also POI's
for Interstate exit ramp services like ATM's, Service stations,
Restaurants and Hotels. The Marine POI's include Floating Nav-Aids,
Fixed Nav-Aids, Wrecks &Obstructions, Marinas and Boat & Canoe
Rentals. Other POI's include Golf Courses, Museums, Parks, Campgrounds,
Airports and more
